USE

>FIELD OF APPLICATION

Especially in horizontal and vertical joints where continuous elasticity and high sag strength are required in wide temperature ranges; It is used in pre-cast element joints, joint details of prefabricated building elements, roof and terrace dilatations, parapet corner joints, around walls, floors, windows and doors.

>APPLICATION SURFACES

On exposed concrete, precast concrete, fiber concrete and betopan surfaces,
On wood, metal, aluminum, brick, ceramic, marble, glass, galvanized sheet and many plastic surfaces,
Consult us for all other application substrates.

APPLICATION LIMIT

There should not be high levels of chlorine in the application environment. (Not used in chlorinated swimming pools).
It cannot be used with silicone applied in the same environment and at the same time.
Alcohol and other solvent-based cleaning materials should be kept away while the material is curing.

APPLICATION FEATURES

Hardening time: 2 mm /day (23 o C , 50% humidity)
Incrustation time: 60-90 min (23 o C , 50% humidity)

SURFACE PREPARATION

While applying weber PU 2A, care should be taken to ensure that the joints are dry and clean, and free from any cement, oil, adhesive and paint residues.
There should not be any coating material on non-porous surfaces such as glass and metal.
Masking tape is recommended for sensitive surfaces and where a smooth and sharp edge is required.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS

Ambient temperature: +5 °C to +35 °C.
Application in very humid and/or very hot weather should be avoided.
It should not be applied on surfaces that are frozen, melting or at risk of frost within 24 hours.

APPLICATION

weber PU 2A should be in good contact with both edges of the joint and the polyethylene wick during application. The material should be applied in equal amounts and uninterruptedly, with the tip inside the joint. For correct application, the mastic should not be overlaid more than one layer.
After the application, the surface of the sealant should be corrected and it should be checked whether it adheres well to the surface. During this process, possible air bubbles that may have formed in the material should be exploded.
Before weber PU 2A dries, the masking tape must be removed.
Since weber PU 2A needs moisture to complete its curing, it should not be used in completely closed environments.
The specified times are valid at 20°C surface and ambient temperature, the time is extended at low temperatures and shortened at high temperatures.

WARNINGS AND SUGGESTIONS

In cold weather, keeping weber PU 2A at 20 o C for a certain period of time before its application is beneficial in terms of ease of use.
In order for weber PU 2A to provide higher flexibility in the joint, the material should not stick to the floor by placing a polyethylene wick on the joint floor.
weber PU 2A provides primerless adhesion to many flat surfaced building elements. However, weber.prim EP 2K should be applied to some very absorbent or glossy, surface-treated or painted coating materials and damp surfaces before application.
Joint widths in facade joints are generally between 15-30 mm. The optimum value is for the joint width to be approximately twice the joint depth.
It can be painted over, but the paint may crack after joint movements.
Although UV resistant, white colored weber PU 2A may turn yellow over time.
Moisture and humidity should not be present in the application environment and in the joint. Otherwise, air bubbles may form in the polyurethane sealant.
Gloves and goggles should be used during the application, and contact with eyes and skin should be avoided.
